Dune Crossing App

Dune crossings present special challenges.  There are at least to main goals for a dune crossing.  One is to protect the dune, generally this means protect the sparse vegetation resource of the dune, which in turn will help reduce wind errosion.  Also some dunes form a steep cliff of sand on the water side, and constant pedestrian traffic over this edge would cave in the cliff, subjecting just that much more sand to being taken away by the ocean tide and surf.
